We are looking for a capable and experienced Managing Editor to manage this site as well as help us produce our growing line of Guides, including the BeijingKids branded Home and Relocation Guide, Health Guide, School Choice Guide and other guidebook related projects that we have in store.
Your responsibilities will include:
□Working with the Editorial Director, Sales, Marketing and Senior Executives to maintain the special projects (i.e. special supplements, Immersion Guides and Agenda) brands’ business positioning in the website and for related events.
□Working to improve special supplements year-on-year by setting tangible, measurable goals.
□Managing the Agenda and Special Projects editorial team, freelancers, writers, and interns to ensure a positive and efficient work environment where all members are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
□Managing the departmental budget to ensure magazines are being produced in a timely manner and within budget.
□Maintaining social media strategy and presence to maximize traffic.
□Continually networking with readers, clients and potential interview subjects and advertisers.
□Developing systems and procedures via SOPS to expedite work smoothly.
□Maintaining, writing for, editing and administrating the Agenda website.
Qualified applicants should have native fluency in English, at least two years of relevant media experience, intimate knowledge of and contacts in Beijing, spoken Chinese ability, a strong interest and experience in digital publishing and a passion for serving and helping the community.
